They are great for traditional canning and pickling uses, and this 2 Gallon Crock is a nice size for pickles and kraut. They can be used decoratively, as well... and as kitchen storage and pantry containers.
When purchasing our crocks, covers, and weights, please keep in mind that we carry six sizes of Ohio Stoneware preserving crocks, weights, and covers. Lid size and weight size should match the crock size, (I.e., 1 gallon lid pairs with the 1 gallon crock, and the 1 gallon weight set pairs with the 1 gallon crock). Our preserving crocks are available in 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 10 gallon sizes.
The 2 Gallon Crock Cover and 2 Gallon Weight Set are sold separately. You can also purchase the complete 2 Gallon Crock Starter Kit, which includes the crock, cover, and weights to keep food submerged for safe, efficient pickling and fermenting.
